the beats so high and easy,
as if it's worth every scenario,
the meaning and purity leaving.
Physical love so shallow,
love "expires" after a week
Why does everyone follow?
Like Judas, kisses are lies on cheeks.
I think music deserves so much more,
"love" is a player that's pitiful,
Rather, music was made to open a door,
to it's Maker's presence yet not critical
He loved us on a greater note,
than the crazy ups and downs,
but entered the deep depths of hell,
relationship broken then found.
Now, His person within our being to dwell,
reaching for Him in the highest heights of heaven.
This is how we know what love is: Christ laid down His life for us.
~ 1 John 3:16
I tell you, that's love.
But some don't want to go deep.
They see freedom as throwing their life around like a joke,
Like it's their own to keep...
But deep down we know,
That's no true story bro.
What's really the case in this deep down of our souls,
is the ultimate question hanging over burning coals:
Will you and I make the jump?
There's Lucifer down in the dark,
Instead, suggesting an easy fall.
Have Fun! Experience! Let it Go! *sings the song AGAIN*
He assured me that I'll be caught when I fell.
There's Christ, the Savior up above
with His outstretched right hand,
beckoning with His steady voice of love:
"Trust Me."
Is that the nailed hole in His hand?
In which He holds the world like a grain of sand?
If He holds the world,
He could hold me.
It's my own choice,
preventing my unshaken voice
Will I simply trust...
Enough to boldly thrust?
Taking that leap of faith seems the only way of finding your life.
Cause the only way to find your life
is to lay your own life down
What's our loss laid
to our gain found?
Loosing life to dark emptiness with no escape
or
Loosing life to salvation no matter your past mistakes
"But look, I'm right here, I'm not that far down-
it's easy, it's safe!" Lucifer urged.
"You are not going to make it up anyway-
I mean- come on, it's too far.
No one is strong enough to jump it on their own."
Most people give in. They play it safe. They fall for it.
"One thing I give you credit for, Lucifer,"I admitted,
"You are right, I'm not strong enough to jump it alone."
He nodded excitedly.
"But another thing," I looked up,
"I'M NOT ALONE."
I am with you always, to the end of the age.
~Matthew 28:20
Springing in that one moment
was the highest I ever gone,
Reaching with every part of my being,
beyond the dark and embracing dawn.
For a second, I thought I wouldn't make it...
Closing my eyes,
memory did arise
of His precious Words,
"Trust Me."
All too soon, my hand was caught secure.
And there He was.
It was Christ for sure.
It was not only I who reached.
He reached for me too.
Feeling the most secure and safe in His grasp,
I pondered,
"Why would the strongest person-
The God, Creator, and Hero of the Universe
for crying out loud-
want to catch...me?
"Why, did you catch me, Jesus?"
He smiled meekly and chuckled.
"Because you jumped.
You trusted me,
Just like I told you to."
I smiled back relievedly,
yet still not comprehending His grace.
Should I stumble again, still I am caught in Your grace.
~Hillsong
"Just remember, Carolyn,
Love always keeps His promises,"
He brought His other hand in a firmer grasp on mine
"Love never lets go."
My hand shook tremblingly under His.
It was then, I realized I wouldn't fall-
unless I let go.
Was it going to be hard to hold on?
Would I want it that bad?
Could I make it until He pulls me up?
Looking into His deep eyes, I knew I trusted Him.
This trust abandoned all fear
Holding on with all-spent, all-out love,
I knew I would never.let.go.
So the next time you listen to the radio
know that love is so much more
then something you could vainly control
Beyond limits, love lies outside
as far as the ocean wide
Not just dancing with blind romance
but living through every circumstance
Love is a sacrifice
yet ours would never suffice
Look up rather than below
Love's outstretched hand will never let go
